Summer is approaching and everyone is starting to wonder: “Where are we going on vacation this year?”

We would like to help you in this dilemma we have decided to create a ranking with the safest travel destinations for summer 2021!

Check out some magical places to visit:

TBILISI – GEORGIA

One of the destinations less affected by the pandemic is the capital of Georgia Tbilisi. They managed successfully the emergency situation with effective measures. We can therefore classify Tbilisi as the ideal travel destination for this summer.

Tbilisi is a mix of Russian and Persian influences that you will notice as you stroll through the historic center of the city along the River Mtkvari.

Here you will find many shops and bars and also Orthodox and Byzantine churches, old houses with wooden balconies, and Art Nouveau buildings.

The capital’s landmarks are the Peace Bridge, a masterpiece of Italian architect Michele De Lucchi, and the Kartlis Deda, which is a 20-meter-high statue representing  Mother Georgia, which dominates the city from the top of a hill.

MADEIRA – PORTUGAL

There are safe travel destinations in Portugal too. In particular, we can recommend two spectacular destinations for those who prefer living outdoor and relaxing in nature safely.

Madeira is home to majestic mountains combined with beautiful hiking routes with the opportunity to taste local specialties. The island remained green even during the pandemic thanks to effective health measures.

Main Attractions:

  • The village of Curral das Freitas (Valley of the Nuns) at the foot of a large volcanic amphitheater, is one of the most popular days trips from Funchal (accessible by bus);
  • Porto Santo (accessible by ferry) has one of the most beautiful golden sand beaches in Europe;
  • Jardins Botânicos of Madeira: With an area of 80,000 square meters at an altitude between 150 m and 300 m above sea level, it is the most important botanical garden in Madeira. His collection of plants, the most exotic in all of Europe, is a unique spectacle.
  • The Quinta das Cruzes is a typical Madeiran villa with a garden and private chapel.

In the villa, you can admire an exhibition on the life of the island aristocracy from the 15th to the 19th century.

THE AZORES – PORTUGAL

The Azores are one of the safest travel destinations as the entire population has already been vaccinated. The Azores archipelago extends for about 600 km and consists of nine islands, all of which are of volcanic origin.

The viewpoints Lagoa do Canario and Grota do Inferno are simply amazing where an incredible landscape with water that flows directly into the mouth of the volcano can be admired.

And not forget the Bay of Silence where the blue and the green lagoon interweave with each other. Ferraria, a natural pool surrounded by volcanic stones with a direct view of the Atlantic invites you to a swim.

You can also visit Graciosa Island, where one of the most visited attractions is located: Furna do Enxofre or Sulfur Cave. be seen a short distance from the coast.

Another worthwhile seeing island is the most westerly of the Azores, Isola do Faial, famous for the various whales that can be observed often at a short distance from the coast.

RETHYMNO – GREECE

For a trip into the immense Greek culture, Rethymno is the perfect destination.

  • Porta Guora, the main entrance to the southern part of Rethymno, which was once part of the ancient fortress walls was built by the Venetians to protect the city;
  • The Rimondi Fountain is one of the Old Town’s masterpieces of the Venetian period. The fountain has three basins and three Corinthian columns. Water gushes from three lion heads carved into the wall;
  • The Archaeological Museum of Rethymno and its extensive collection of artifacts ranging from the Neolithic to Roman times are located in the Church of San Francesco;
  • The great fortress built by the Italians to defend the port is the most important monument in Rethymno;
  • There are beautiful beaches and numerous tourist facilities along the coast of Rethymno.

ICELAND

After all, Iceland was the first European country to introduce a vaccination card.

The islanders receive a certificate once they have received both doses of the vaccine.

Natural attractions:

  • Its black sand beaches, its fascinating lagoons, its incredible geysers, and its waterfalls;
  • Blue Lagoon is the most important spa in Iceland and certainly one of the most famous in the world;
  • In the Haukadalur Valley, in southwest Iceland, is Geysir, the oldest geyser in the world.
  • One of the most beautiful places in Iceland is over 300 kilometers from Reykjavik and 75 kilometers from the city of Höfn. This is a frozen lake, the most beautiful feature of which is the numerous turquoise and blue icebergs. The sight makes everyone breathless, especially if you have the opportunity to visit the place on a beautiful sunny day.
  • Dyniandi declared a National Natural Monument in 1981 should not miss the list of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland.
